OLD NOVELS
Back in the '70s, several series of SPACE: 1999 novelizations and original novels were produced. The following is a quick guide; more details are available at Martin Willey's Catacombs site.
First came the original novelizations of Year One. Each of these linked the episodes together through a variety of means, to shape each book's set of episodes into a single novel. Some of this linking material will be adapted in the Year One Omnibus scheduled for release by Powys -- which will also include a new novelization of Earthbound, the episode skipped in the original novels, now written by E.C. Tubb.

These were followed by a series of original Year One novels. Powys is not currently scheduling any reprints of these books. However, the titles which are highlighted below have been reprinted by other publishers:

While the first four books were stand-alone novels, Earthfall was in part an expanded and revamped adaptation of the first episode Breakaway, also featuring a new conclusion to the series.

These novelizations -- plus a new one of The Taybor, which was skipped in the original run -- have been reworked by Butterworth into the Year Two Omnibus, which presents the episodes in chronological order.
The Edge of the Infinite ended on a cliffhanger, with Moonbase Alpha facing an intergalactic journey of unprecedented length. This cliffhanger was resolved in a series of original novels set after Year Two -- published only in Germany in 1978. English translations of the titles follow:
