book cover

A team of British secret agents are being trained for a special commando mission. They will parachute by night into a secret location --

The Village.

Here they will infiltrate, locate Number 6, and rescue him and return him to freedom.

But the Village can be a deadly place to visit...

Miss Freedom is an audacious new Prisoner adventure, set at once in the sinisterly cheerful, psychotically regimented microcosm of the Village itself and also at large in the colourfully lethal and exciting world of the classic sixties spy novel.

Available Spring 2008

Miss Freedom is currently available in a limited edition of 100 signed-and-numbered copies, available only at convention launch events. A full release will follow shortly.

About the Author

ANDREW CARTMEL is best known as the script editor of Doctor Who in the late '80s, during one of its most experimental periods (including the story The Happiness Patrol, which was planned to be filmed at Portmeirion as a Prisoner homage). His trilogy of original Doctor Who novels -- Warhead, Warlock, and Warchild -- stretched the boundaries of the series, and his amusing and controversial memoir of his time on the series, Script Doctor, is available from Telos Publishing. His career also includes other television work (script-editing Casualty and Dark Knight), stage plays, and an original dark-fantasy novel (The Wise).
